Preview day offers Fairfield University the opportunity to show prospective students the campus and showcase its higher points. Unfortunately, last Saturday was a low point for Fairfield University in its quest for greater diversity when it scheduled Preview Day on Yom Kippur.

Facebook, a social networking site with an estimated 40 million active members, is currently undergoing a facelift. Some members may soon find their private information available on the World Wide Web. On Sept. 5, Facebook announced that it will allow non-users to search profiles via search engines such as Google, MSN and Yahoo.

Three more narcotics violations, vandals at the townhouses and a foul ball through a car windshield headline this week's crime beat.

In the battle to raise diversity, integrate the core, and retain competitive faculty, Fairfield has one main monetary ally: your tuition. On March 22, 2007, the Fairfield board of trustees approved a $137 million University budget, a $6.6 million increase from the previous year.

Recent federal investigations into the student loan industry revealed unethical relationships between universities and lending companies. Now, the study abroad industry is under scrutiny for offering universities similar incentives in exchange for exclusivity of programs.

There is only one restaurant in Fairfield County where tacos, fried cod and dessert pizza are included on the same menu - the restaurant my former Zagat-employed housemate would give four stars for ambiance and service: the Barone Campus Center dining hall.

I'll be the first to say that if Barone had a bathroom, I'd never leave. Seriously, your bowel movements are the only thing keeping you from scoping babes all day. I don't rely on harsh fluorescent dorm lighting during my morning primping routine; the warm sun's reflection on the slow morning waves brightens up my room at my beach house. I'm no longer waking up to those chirping birds outside of Regis, trash pickup at 8 a.

While perusing last week's "Senate in Session," I was taken aback by the lack of substantial conversations held. Actually, that is a bigger fabrication than the work FUSA says it does. The Mirror made some healthy observations at Fairfield's resident trucker hat association's Senate meeting last week.
