For the past four years, Bryan Davis, General Manager of Sodexho here at Fairfield University, has held this position with the dining services of various college campuses. Prior to that, he was a culinary student and a chef at TGI Friday's. This September, he brought his expertise to the position formerly held by Mark Timmons.

My Sundays have always been about being a bum - lying around with my roommates watching old episodes of "Friends" that we know all the lines to. Maybe, if we're feeling motivated, we'll make a half-ass attempt to get to the gym or crack open a book. However, the last two Sundays of my life were hijacked for one reason - Powder Puff practice - and I was not happy about it.

Sports is a man's escape from women. Every Sunday, we just want to sit on the couch, slop on some pizza, drink beer and watch football. Stop invading our world, girls. Say Anything, an indie rock band known best for the hit,"Wow, I Can Get Sexual Too," is back with its new album "In Defense of the Genre." If fans were shocked with the racy lyrics and unexampled song structure of the band's previous album, "Is a Real Boy," they are in for it with this release, which is surprisingly far more quirky.

Sitting silently as the Whirling Dervishes performed a religious ceremony was a strange thing to do on a Saturday night. As I sat in the Quick Center audience watching politely, people around me complained about the performance. "It's so insufferably boring," said one female audience member.

Unless you've been living under a rock these last couple of years, everyone on this campus should be aware of the Guitar Hero video game franchise craze. Possibly the most addictive video game ever created, the third installment in the Guitar Hero series was released this week on Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3 and Playstation 2.

Dar Williams has the power to evoke memories, inspire change and carry you through a tough time just by playing a song. One fan wrote on Williams's Web site, "Thanks for getting me through high school." It is with this power that Williams has moved through her 17-year career as a folk singer.

We Won't Pay! We Won't Pay! kicks off Theatre Fairfield's first production of the academic year with a bang. Written by Nobel Prize-winning playwright Dario Fo and translated by Ron Jenkins, "We Won't Pay! We Won't Pay!" is set in a town where prices have risen astronomically, leaving its residents unable to afford essentials.

Earlier this week I was l lucky enough to sit down and chat one on one with Mike Carden, guitarist for the popular indie-rock band The Academy Is. Currently headlining the Sleeping with Giants tour with Armor for Sleep and Cobra Starship, Mike took some time out to talk to me about the band and their future plans.

Appearing in the playoffs for the first time in 20 years last Sunday at Vasser College, Fairfield lost in the first round to Rutgers 31-15.
