Britney Spears isn’t clowning around with this ‘Circus’

After her recently debuted MTV documentary ‘Britney: For the Record,’ Britney Spears has proved herself musically well-recovered with her sixth studio released album ‘Circus’ on Dec. 2.
While the track ‘Womanizer’ has been driven into our heads these past few months, the dancing continues as hot pop tracks ‘Circus,’ ‘Mannequin,’ and ‘Kill the Lights’ now stimulate our eardrums.
Spears has been professionally recognized for her talent since 1999, but has this album lived up to the reputation of her past hits? While ‘Womanizer’ hit the number one spot on the ‘Billboard Hot 100,’ the rest of her tracks are not receiving the same favorable reviews as that number one hit. Spears has gone through quite the roller coaster of emotional tragedies over the past few years but empathy for her has not necessarily led to a resounding approval of her most recent album.
Devoted Spears fans will agree that although the album is another great piece of work because, well, it’s Spears, this is clearly not her best. Many of the songs have a similar clubby, monotonous sound and are confused throughout the album. Instead of getting lost in the music like some of her other great works, some of Spears’ tracks on Circus like ‘Shattered Glass,’ ‘If U Seek Amy,’encourage us to seek the next song.
The ‘deluxe album,’ available on iTunes, actually provides some of the better tracks. ‘Rock Me In’ and ‘Phonography’ define the music of Spears. Fans are reassured of Spears’ talent with tracks like those. The track ‘Mmm Papi,’ which is an obvious acknowledgement to the settled tension between Spears and her authoritative father, ironically happens to have an erotic, sexually driven melody; however, her ballad ‘My Baby,’ enlightens the listener where he or she can experience the love Spears has for her children.
Spears has and always will be a poignant figure in our celebrity world. Her music and performances will always be desired by many, and there’s no doubt about it. Passion and drama always excite an audience and this fresh Spears album has done just that. The album is definitely worth playing at a party scene and will continue to have radio recognition.
Her fans should be happy she is successfully still at work and has -to a great extent – emotionally recovered.
