New York City never wore cowboy hats and denim so well until the Rascal Flatts rolled into town last Thursday.

We are now in the home stretch to Spring Break 2009, and Fairfield students are counting down the days until one of the most anticipated weeks of the year.

On Sunday, Feb. 22 from 3-7 p.m., Fairfield University will be hosting an Up 'til Dawn letter-sending event for students, faculty, athletes, family and friends of the University community, in an effort to raise funds to benefit the life-saving work down at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital so that no child is ever turned away from care because of a family's inability to pay.

'This is a show about things,' proclaimed comedian Demetri Martin at the start of his new program, 'Important Things with Demetri Martin,' which premiered last Wednesday on Comedy Central. It is, perhaps, the best way to describe the show.

All of that comes to an end this Saturday afternoon when new head coach Andy Copelan and the men's lacrosse team put the offseason storylines aside and finally get back to what they do best: play lacrosse.

Last year, after Marist won the MAAC tournament, Iona earned the automatic Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT) bid, and Fairfield was left hoping for an at-large berth that never came.This season, the same scenario could happen again. But, more importantly for now, Fairfield needs to focus on winning the rest of its games.
