Perlitz Faces Nine Additional Charges

Nora R. Dannehy, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced “a federal grand jury sitting in Bridgeport returned a superseding indictment today charging Douglas Perlitz with additional counts related to the alleged sexual abuse of several boys in Haiti,” in a press release today.

Perlitz

The superseding indictment charges Perlitz, a Fairfield alumnus who graduated in 1992, with nine counts of traveling outside of the United States with the intent to engage in sexual conduct with persons under the age of 18, and 10 counts of engaging in sexual conduct in foreign places with persons under the age of 18. The alleged activity occurred between 1998 and 2008.

Perlitz has been detained since Sept. 16, 2009 after the original Bridgeport grand jury indicted Perlitz on ten counts of related to the alleged abuse of nine boys. The superseding indictment adds nine counts and references an additional nine alleged victims. He is currently being held at the Donald W. Wyatt Federal Detention Facility in Central Falls, R.I.

If convicted, Perlitz faces a maximum term of imprisonment of 30 years and a fine of up to $250,000 on each count of the indictment.

Perlitz funded and operated Project Pierre Toussaint, which became essentially a boarding school for poor Haitian boys in Cap-Haitien. The Haiti Fund, which was chaired by Rev. Paul Carrier, the former Campus Ministry director at Fairfield, and half of whose members were comprised of people with Fairfield ties, raised money for the charity.

This indictment comes only days after Perlitz’s legal team filed a motion to dismiss all charges.

Perhaps these additional charges will open some eyes.

Is it 18 victims by now? Read the reports by Paul Kendrick from Haiti to understand the facts that reveal the truth. I believe trials are basically adversary proceedings, not a search for the truth. If truth emerges, it is happenstance.

If Perlitz had a shred of morality, he would plead guilty. Here’s what really happened, thanks to the relentless advocacy of Kendrick:

    Day 1 in Haiti http://fairfieldmirror.com/2010/01/13/day-one-in-haiti/

    Day 2 in Haiti http://fairfieldmirror.com/2010/01/15/day-two-in-haiti-pre-earthquake/

    Day 3 in Haiti http://fairfieldmirror.com/2010/01/20/day-three-in-haiti-2/

    Day 4 in Haiti http://fairfieldmirror.com/2010/01/27/day-four-in-haiti/

Let justice roll down like the mighty waters. The only corruption in Haiti in this case is the willful blindness of those who think the victims are lying.

Please don’t forget to mention that if you’re ever called up for jury duty.

“Let justice roll down like the mighty waters”. Did you just seriously write that???

your an idiot. and so is this Kendrick guy. How many restraining orders does Kendrick have?

Just like Lemmings jumping off a cliff. If the prosecution says its so, it must be true.

…and so the mighty waters roll on, down the stream, to the delta, into the ocean, where the Lemmings are.

When you think about this youngman and who he is and who he is affiliated with, you can understand that the Roman Catholic Church has funded him in this endeavor.Even the name of a RC Haiti Saint [Pierre Toussaint] for the name of the school.Just boys and no girls. This is their perfect” M O” Have someone other than a priest, found this place who seems ligitimate and they have full “use of the boys” for their sexual pleasure. They got Perlitz and he perfoms beautifully for them. Check out the MONEY and you’ll find out I’m right.

You speak as though what you read in the papers is true. A true sign of your intelligence.

The Jesuit USA CEO Thomas Smolich is bragging in a video about Jesuit work for earthquake relief in Haiti – but the Jesuits were first reckless in giving their blessing to the alleged abusive Jesuit lay-missionary Douglas Perlitz. Perlitz used the Jesuit brand to facilitate the victimization of children in Haiti before the earthquake.

Would someone who is supporting Perlitz PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE enlighten us with Doug’s side of the story? I’m shocked that, in spite of all of the evidence that has been presented, that people are still standing by his side, offering to take him into your homes, paying his lawyer bills, and saying he’s innocent. Who are you people and how can you support him?

  5. bobbie says:

Where is the proof? Where is the evidence? Where is the “innocent until proven guilty” Where is the outcry against Kendrick and his venomous hate vendetta (he who has numerous restraining orders against him)
