Damaged goods: $1.3 million Lessing Field closed for season

The $1.3 million spent on the new Lessing Field wasn't enough to prevent a sod deficiency that has caused the Stags to cease competition on the new field this fall. After just two games played on the new field, portions of the sod have begun to lift up and break apart from the surface, causing concern for both player safety and permanent damage to the field itself.

On Sept. 5, Fairfield seniors Amanda Martignetti and Jennifer Gregory chose to make remembering Sept. 11 unique. They didn't just remember. They commemorated. "In Our Own Words," is an event sponsored by Safe Horizon, a violence protection organization.

Ride along with security

When you hear the word "security" what words come to mind? Parking ticket, judicial, health center...Well there is a new program on campus that will hopefully add some kinder words to your vocabulary. Starting next week the Fairfield University Security Department (FUSD) is kicking off a Ride Along program that will allow interested students to accompany officers on their day and evening rounds.

Worth the Weight?

Many students' New Years' resolutions have resulted in crowded Rec Plex workout facilities. More than two to three hundred students have been using the workout machines each day since the beginning of the semester causing long waits for students, which makes students question if its really worth their time and effort.
