Does candy equal cool?

When I was in fifth grade, there were the "cool" girls in the class. They were an elite group that I was never a part of but always eagerly wanted to be included in for so long because of reasons I didn't quite understand that early in life. Perhaps the reasoning behind my anxious behavior to be a part of this elite clique of preteen girls is because with every "cool" girl came a "cool" boyfriend and they would "go out" with for a short period of time.

Editorial: Completing the Constitution

The Fairfield University Student Association should be commended for finally completing and approving a new constitution, which works both to simplify and clarify existing policy, as well as instituting some new changes. However, it still does not go as far as we had hoped in order to create a completely transparent government open not only to the media, but the students as well.

Good luck Class of 2004

Well, we are at a four-year party, and it is almost last call. A few months ago, when graduation did not loom and we felt invincible to the outside world, a friend and I reminisced on our best days at Fairfield. Putting key events like our first date and our first kiss aside, we realized that our friends here at Fairfield are our second family.

EDITORIAL: For the greater glory of…

In 1592 a soldier who loved women, gambling and swordplay was crippled by a canonball during battle. While he recovered he asked for romance novels to pass the time, but all that was available was a book of saints and the life of Jesus Christ. At that point the soldier had a religious conversion and decided that Jesus Christ was worth imitating.

EDITORIAL: Parting Padres

Fairfield University will not only say goodbye to the Class of 2003, but also two of its most beloved Jesuits. Rev. Thomas J. Regan, S.J. and Rev. Gregory Grovenburg, S.J. will leave the Fairfield community this summer, and their presence on this campus will be sorely missed.
