Mexican food is easy to be picky about; sometimes the meat doesn't taste right, and sometimes it's too spicy or not spicy enough.

The Best: Firehouse Deli The Firehouse Deli is a Fairfield staple and it comes with little surprise that it was voted the best deli in Fairfield for the 2004-2005 school year. Everyone knows how crucial the deli meats are to sandwiches, and with Firehouse using some of the freshest cold cuts in town, the foundation of their sandwiches is strong.

Wok This Way: Chinese

The Best: China Star Most Fairfield students have a love-hate relationship with China Star. Prices are reasonable, and most of the time, the food is too. China Star is convenient, located on Post Road, and the delivery is usually quick. Perhaps it's because the place has managed to wallpaper the entire campus with menus.

Recovery continues for Fairfield student Clinton Chizinski who was shot in a Westport home on Nov. 12. After a night out in South Norwalk celebrating a friend's 21 birthday, Chizinski and a friend accepted a ride back from two young men to a friend's Westport home.

National database could bring Big Brother to Fairfield

by Kelly Sheehan Privacy concerns have risen for college students because the U.S. government is considering creating a national database to increase federal oversight of universities and track the progress of every college student in the country. "The big con is not necessarily with the Department of Education and their ability to use the data appropriately, but rather, the increasing disarmament of individual privacy by the federal government," said Timothy Snyder, dean of the college of arts and sciences.

Blowing Off Steam

Under pressure: There is a leaking steam pipe near Alumni Hall, causing water to overflow and steam to rise from the corner of the parking lot behind the RecPlex, according to a construction worker. The area and several adjoining parking spaces have been blocked off while construction workers develop a fix.
