Four months ago the most fashionable things around were sweater coats. Now, it's the American Flag. Four months ago you only heard the phrase "God Bless America" at the end of election speeches. Now, it's overtaken "Wassssssup" as the most popular catch phrase on television. Do not get me wrong, I consider myself to be patriotic. I just find it odd how people who have never registered to vote and who skip jury duty can proudly display the American Flag.

There are only four living descendants of Adolf Hitler in this world. Do you know where they all live? Long Island, according to a UK newspaper, the Telegraph. Is this mere coincidence, or are more sinister forces at work? There is one simple and fundamental truth: Long Island is the fifth ring of hell.

If Fairfield University wants to establish itself as a prominent national university, and all other indicators point that this is the goal, then we have to stop hanging things on the walls of our buildings that look like they belong in a VFW Hall.
