Letters to the Editor: DSB Students Not “Taking the Easy Way Out”

To The Editor: I am compelled to respond to the attack that was made last week on the reputation of the Dolan School of Business and education that it provides (Business Students Get the Jobs, Liberal Arts Students Get the Education 1/25/07). The headline alone makes the audacious assertion that while business students find employment with ease upon graduation, they leave the school with an inferior education.

Tribute to Seniors

Seniors Caitlin Quinn and Courtney O'Connor played their last games on home turf this weekend, a memorable 3-0 win against St. Francis on Friday, Oct. 20, and a forgettable 6-0 loss to Lock Haven on Sunday, Oct. 22. The seniors were celebrated after Sunday's contest by fans, family and teammates.

In her 12 seasons as the head coach of the Fairfield field hockey team, Jackie Kane has never seen anything quite as amazing as this past weekend. Two double-overtime wins on the road have not only boosted the Stags' confidence, but also their chance at a Northeast Conference playoff berth.

Recent Fairfield field hockey game scores, for example, don't reflect the sweat, tears and numerous practices team members endure before heading out to the field.

Heartbroken Stags record 1-0 loss against Siena

Despite outshooting their opponent 10-5, the Fairfield University field hockey team was defeated Friday, in a 1-0 heartbreaker against conference rival Siena (2-7). The Stags recorded six shots in the final five minutes of the game, but could not find the back of the net.
