To the delight of much of the Fairfield University population, Third Eye Blind will perform at Alumni Hall on April 24. For those of you who aren't as excited, relax. Come on, it's not so bad now, is it? Third Eye Blind was popular when most of us were in middle school.

If two words could sum up Ani Difranco's most recent album, "Educated Guess", then the two I would choose would be "beautifully simplistic". However, two words can't do this album justice. According to her website, Difranco recorded, sang, played the instruments and mixed this album entirely by herself, exploring the freedom that owning her own record company allows her to do.

Dave Grazynski recently turned back time. And he did it by producing a CD compilation of songs from campus concerts that took place in the fall of 2002. Until now, those Friday and Saturday night concerts were but a memory. The compilation, "Last Night's Escape," took Grazynski, '04, over a year to complete.

A friend and I recently got in a fight about Madonna's latest album, American Life. He, claiming to be her #1 fan, bought the album on April 22, the day it hit store shelves, and proceeded to do nothing but rave about it until I could get my own. So, five whole days later, I was psyched when I got it-and all I can say is that she's done better, and this doesn't shed a "Ray of Light" for her career's future.

What has more screaming than a Weezer concert but the same girl/boy ratio? Believe it or not, the Levee did last Saturday, but the screaming most definitely didn't come from the audience. It was the lead vocalists who screamed through songs in the first concert to rock the Levee this semester.

Last fall, as the Levee rocked with many concerts, this campus buzzed with news that Dave Grazynski, '04, and his record label, Last Night's Escape Records (LNE), were to release a compilation CD from all the shows this winter. The concerts have long been over, the songs recorded, and while LNE may have dissolved, one thing remains solid: the compilation will still be released.

When it was announced that the Smashing Pumpkins were breaking up almost three years ago, many fans feared the worst: that it would be the end of Billy Corgan's career and an end to an era of angst-driven music. It may indeed have signaled an end to the dominating angry and sad themes of the 90's, but an end to Corgan's career? Sad fans should know better.

Finals are over; you're at home awaiting notification of your crucial Calculus grade. While you're hoping for a miraculous A and praying for a C, the feeling you get when you see your grades is worse than getting an F. Your grade is not posted. Missing grades were the case for many students over the winter break, and some did not even receive their grades until after they had returned from the break.

Twenty female residents on Claver 4 are angry over a recent decision by the office of residence life and housing to relocate them by Nov. 25 because of a "male housing crunch." According to a Nov. 12 letter sent to the affected students by Laura Cantrell, the associate director of residence life, "the university finds that there is a need to change a female wing to a male wing in Claver.
