Student vote low

The elections for 2002 are finally over. No more ads on television, no signs lining the streets and no more debates where the truths and lies are made or broken. But did anyone at Fairfield even care? In an independent Mirror study, 30 freshmen undergraduates were surveyed.

Academic advising still a major problem

At most colleges, finals week is the most stressful week of out the year. However, at Fairfield, registration is the time of year that sends chills down student's spines and gives them the most anxiety headaches. When asked to recall registration during his time at Fairfield, Alumni Ryan Washington '02, declared, "Oh, it sucks!" Rob DelliBovi, another member of the class of '02 recalled, "It's stressful because you don't want to get screwed, you have to work to get the classes and teachers that you want to get.

Panic attacks: they can happen to you

You wake up. Your palms are sweaty. You jump out of bed, but you feel dizzy and have trouble breathing. You feel boxed in and hot even though it's only 30 degrees outside. You are afraid to go to class and give your speech on the pros and cons of going to war with Iraq.

How much is too much?

The green posters around campus draw attention to the growing problem of binge drinking. "Is it good night or goodbye?" they ask. The Mirror has set out to discover what students can do when they are drinking to keep themselves safe and what should be done if overly intoxicated.

Fairfield: a waste of energy

Walking around Fairfield's beautiful 200 acre campus, you don't see any windmills. You won't see many solar panels, and you won't see any nuclear generators either. What you will see is the Central Utility Facility (CUF), Fairfield's energy producer, where the university produces primarily all of its energy.
