Many things can cause a gaping void in someone's life: The freshman 15, the loss of a girlfriend or boyfriend or an inability to achieve academically. None of those however was as big of a loss for me as the loss of my beloved New York Rangers and the National Hockey League last season.

"It's good to be back," exclaimed Stewie Griffin, and it certainly is. After a brief hiatus, the animated comedy "Family Guy" is back on the air and after the completion of its fourth season has released a brand new uncensored animated movie, "Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story.

To study or not to study, that is the collegiate paradox. Facebook. Playstation. AIM. Online poker. Students have a wealth of distractions at their fingertips. "It is hard to stay away from distractions because when all your friends go somewhere you don't want to be the one kid that stays behind in the dorm doing work," said Chris Caporale '09.

In the midst of many of our nation's worst tragedies, music has been one factor in reuniting our nation and helping to benefit those who were affected and need assistance. We can recall the Sept. 11 and tsunami concerts to benefit the victims.

In May, Dave Matthews Band took to their Summer 2005 Tour, beginning in New York City at the intimate Roseland Ballroom. The first show celebrated the much anticipated release of their new album "Stand Up." The last-minute surprise show, before a crowd of barely 3,000, was the first of many new things to come from the band during the tour.

The men's soccer team was picked third in the pre-season MAAC coaches' poll -- not bad in a ten team league. But third place for this veteran team would be a severe underachievement. "[A league title] is a must," said defender Alex Cinliffe '07.

Perhaps the most intense aspect of sports is the "Game 7," "Do-or-Die," or "Must-Win," game. This weekend the 17th ranked Fairfield men's lacrosse team faces the same challenge. On Saturday, the men will face No. 12 Denver at home with the Great Western Lacrosse League championship and an automatic NCAA tournament birth on the line.

Like any college student, I enjoy the opportunity to see my favorite musicians in concert and follow them with their new album releases and insider gossip. At what cost, however, does following a band and enjoying music go from passion to obscene obsession? Allow me to clarify.

With about six and a half minutes left in the second half, Canisius goalie Jenna Gage collided with a player and remained down while play continued around her.

by Dan Akeson Eight seconds remained with the Fairfield and Notre Dame men's lacrosse teams tied. As time quickly ticked away, sophomore Greg Downing picked up the ball and sliced through the Fightin' Irish defense. At three seconds, his heroic afternoon was complete and nearly 1,500 fans erupted as the Stags defeated Notre Dame for the first time at home in school history.
