Freshmen athletic class taking charge

Whether they come out of public school or prep school, this year's freshman class of athletes has had a major impact on Fairfield's Division-I teams. With more than 100 freshmen added to Fairfield's varsity teams this year, coaches and players alike have seen the effects of a strong youthful presence and have experienced the challenges involved in training new players.

Softball: “hot and cold”

The softball team was in North Carolina this weekend to attend the North Carolina State Wolfpack Challenge. On Saturday, the team lost its first match 7-6 against Western Illinois. They followed up the loss, however, with a 4-3 win over the University of Akron.

Globetrotters coming to HarborYard

What is the next best basketball show to Deng Gai? The Harlem Globetrotters! The Globetrotters will be coming to the Arena at Harbor Yard for a show on February 25 at 7:30 p.m., and a 1:00 p.m. game on February 26, before a Fairfield basketball double-header.

Fairfield Prep students still present in Rec Plex

by Dan Akeson Despite the recent addition of the Fr. Brisette Athletic Center to Fairfield Preparatory, Prep students and teams continue to use the Rec Plex facilities. "The new Fr. Brissette Athletic Center was built by Prep to provide our students with more adequate locker room facilities, and to give Prep a practice gym that could be used largely for much needed intramural purposes," said Fairfield Preparatory Athletic Director Robert Harris.
