The women's volleyball team fell 3-1 to Saint Peter's in the semifinals of the MAAC Tournament in Orlando, Fla. The Stags were the co- champions of the MAAC regular season and were looking for their sixth straight tournament title and a bid in the NCAA Tournament.

Since his arrival in '99, Rae Metz '03 has helped the hockey team make consistent progress. He has been the team's co-captain and MVP the last three seasons, a fact that he'll downplay if you ask him about it. Individual accolades don't mean much to Metz, he's pushing for recognition for the team, not himself.

The juniors on the men's and women's swim team have had a different head coach each season at Fairfield. Phil Palumbo took a position in the RecPlex after their freshman year, Don Galluzzi was offered a position at Yale University at the conclusion of last season and Bill Farley was appointed head coach for the 2002-2003 season.

The varsity women's crew team rowed to an impressive second place finish Sunday at Dowling College. This race concluded the fall 2002 season, and the women seem anxious to begin training for the spring.
