Soccer coaches win big

In these past few weeks, Fairfield men’s and women’s soccer coaches, Carl Rees and Jim O’Brien, respectively, have made great accomplishments. Carl Rees notched his 100th MAAC win as a coach and Jim O’Brien finished the season as the first ever coach of an undefeated Fairfield women’s soccer team at home.

Women’s soccer win for seniors

​Last Saturday, the Stags women’s soccer team beat the Niagara Purple Eagles with a score of 4-0 on Senior Day. Ironically enough, all four of the goals were scored by freshmen. The four seniors, Sarah Frassetto, Jac Ley, Carly Beyar and Shannon Fay, and one graduate student, Nikki Stanton '13, played in their last ever home game at Lessing Field and helped their team clinch a winning season as well as an undefeated season at home. This is the first time such a feat has happened for the women’s soccer team.

Men’s soccer ties MAAC opener

In their first MAAC play game of the season, men’s soccer was not able to pick up a win or a loss. The team walked away with a tie of 1-1 against Monmouth University on Saturday night in double overtime.

Men’s soccer looks forward to the season ahead

Last season was a disappointing one for Fairfield University Men’s Soccer. After finishing 7-8-1 and 3-4-1 in MAAC play, the team is looking forward to a new season. Sophomore George Newton, a captain from Cheshire, England, said there were some reasons for last year’s disappointing season.

Women’s soccer gets big win against Yale

After suffering a tough loss to Central Connecticut State University, the Stags were ready to redeem themselves in their game against Yale. On Sunday, Sept. 22, Fairfield University Women's Soccer was able to capture a win against the Bulldogs, 1-0.
