New York City Police said Sunday night that no arrests have been made one week after Mark Fisher, ’06, was found brutally murdered after leaving a party in Brooklyn on Oct. 12.

Police do have evidence pointing to specific people and a specific location, but it seems more evidence is needed before arrests are made.

Investigators do not think the motive was robbery or a random act. Neighbors reported hearing gunshots and a car speeding away before Fisher’s body was discovered with five bullet wounds to the heart, lungs, liver and esophagus, Ray Kelly, NYC Police Commissioner told the New Jersey Star Ledger. Police were trying to determine whether Fisher was shot at the party, on the street or inside the car and then dumped into the street

But Kelly and the NYPD are very interested in those who live at 152 Stratford Road. It is there that Fisher was last seen alive.

As a result of a search warrant, they have established that a blanket used to wrap up Fisher’s body came from that house.

Police sources told Newsday that after a night spent in Manhattan bars, Fisher, who had never been to Brooklyn, arrived at the party with two women who had friends there. The sources said that Fisher and another man at the party were interested in the same woman. Detectives think Fisher and the man who shot him may have fought over the woman.

Detectives have interviewed the suspected triggerman who demanded a lawyer and stopped the questioning, sources told Newsday.

Police also arrested Jesse Wenzle, 21, of Brooklyn, Friday for having unregistered weapons, but police have not indicated that Wenzle is linked to Fisher’s murder.

“Right now, he’s just been charged with weapons possession in the third and fourth degree,” New York City Detective Price, spokesman for Deputy Commissioner Public Information told reporters on Sunday.

Family and friends of the 19-year-old Fisher attended an emotional service at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church in Sparta, N.J. on Friday.
