Fairfield Police arrested a non-student on campus late Monday evening after discovering over four ounces of marijuana and evidence of intent to sell.

Eighteen-year-old Robert Koripsky was arrested and charged for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of over four ounces of marijuana and possession of marijuana on school grounds, according to the Department of Public Safety and The Fairfield Daily Voice.

Police also cited two other non-students and a Fairfield student with infractions for possession of marijuana.

Sergeant Pete Baird of Fairfield’s DPS was on a routine patrol of Regis Hall at 10:49 p.m. Monday evening when he smelled an odor of burnt marijuana emanating from a specific room on the third floor.

Baird said he had to knock several times, announcing himself as public safety, before Koripsky answered the door. Inside the room were five males: Koripsky, three other non-students and a Fairfield student.

According to Fairfield Police, several plastic bags of suspected narcotics field-tested positive as marijuana.

Baird said Fairfield Police led the investigation outside to the Regis parking lot, where Fairfield Police discovered more marijuana in Koripsky’s vehicle.

According to The Fairfield Daily Voice, five glass smoking pipes, a metal grinder, 50 plastic bags and a jar containing more marijuana were discovered.

“It’s a good catch,” said Baird.

According to Baird, this incident was “one of the larger instances we’ve had, which is good for us. Four individuals had some type of ownership to marijuana in Regis Hall.”

The Fairfield student who was cited for possession was referred to student conduct.

Koripsky was released on $500 cash bond and has a court date set for April 14, according to The Fairfield Daily Voice.
