A shuttle service has been set up for Thursday’s Senior Mug Night at the Levee.’ Shuttles will run from 8 p.m. to 12:45 a.m. between campus and the beach.’ Jordan Hummel, FUSA’s secretary of communications, said the service will allow the university to gauge the need for future safe-ride programs of this nature.’

Also on the transportation front, surveys will be administered to students within the coming weeks regarding their transportation needs.’ The information gathered from the surveys will aid FUSA members analyzing ways to improve the current system.’ ‘

Changes to registration are taking shape for the spring semester.’ The University is planning to reduce the amount of turbos offered. Jordan Hummel, FUSA’s secretary of communications, said the administration is ‘moving away’ from midday seminars, which occupy classrooms for extended periods of time and overlap with other classes students may wish to take.’ She said morning and evening classes will be retained.’ These changes join adjustments to preferential registration, which will be implemented for the upcoming registration.’

The informational ‘table tents’ set up around the cafeteria were a success, according to FUSA senate members.’ The tables were part of an effort to help students understand the changes- particularly the removal of trays and plastic bags- from the cafeteria and The Stag.’ Jeff Seiser, FUSA president, said there has been a ‘significant reduction in food waste and the amount of water and detergent used in the cafeteria’ as a result of the changes.’ He said rising food prices caused Sodexho management to evaluate ways to reduce waste without raising the price of meal plans.’ FUSA, along with the Green Campus Initiative and James Fitzpatrick, assistant vice president of student affairs, worked to bring the informational tables to the cafeteria.’

‘We want to make sure we are working with groups on campus like GCI,’ Seiser said.’
