Do you think that Donald Trump is a dividing force or do you think that he has an appeal that is helping him lead the polls?

Andrew Gormley, 2019: “…He kind of just does what he wants and I think in a sense, he’s being so Republican that he’s making other Republicans look more moderate and attractive to the people, so honestly, I like that he’s in the polls right now due to the fact that I think it will make more Republicans look better and not so far right. So I think he is, for the time being, but come elections, he won’t make it past the first round.”

Nick Walsh, 2017: “…And I think he has the appeal of he was already famous before he started running, he had a very successful career, he makes a lot of money and I think the economy has been one of the major problems that our country has been dealing with for years now. So, I think people were very unhappy that at the end of Obama’s term the economy isn’t going to be where we thought it would be. So I think that people are more upset about that and that’s why they’re more focused on that aspect. But also, he really, really knows how to kind of work the media and even when he’s up there making horrible comments and saying brash things and acting unprofessionally, he still gets the most press over it because he’s already famous … I know my reaction when he first ran is you kind of laugh and you don’t take it seriously and that’s why you kind of think there’s no way he’s going to win. So let’s just kind of watch him and laugh at him and see what happens, but since there are no other candidates that are really picking up traction, people have just been paying more and more attention to him just because of some of the outrageous things that he does and that he’s prone to do. But I actually just read that he is now pledging to support whoever the Republican nominee is even if he doesn’t get it, which means that he won’t be running Independent, so I think that does show that he’s not completely concerned with just becoming president. He does actually want what’s best for the party and what’s good for the country. So I think it’s a little bit of both.”
