Sophomore Kristen Yost talks about her love for Disney and pop music. Contributed photo

This week’s Heard It Through The GrapeVINE spotlight is Kristen Yost ‘19. She is undeclared in the Dolan School of Business. Yost is involved in many different parts of the Fairfield community. She works closely with Campus Ministry and is a Eucharistic Minister, helps first-year students as a New Student Leader and is a part of StagsTV. She enjoys pop and country music, and loves music from Disney.

  1. “Wonderland” – Taylor Swift

This is my favorite song, because it mixes my two favorite things, Taylor Swift and references to Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland.”

  1. “Haunted” – Taylor Swift

This was the first song that made me fall in love with Taylor Swift. I love the rhythm and lyrics of the song. I saw her “Speak Now” show three times and this was my favorite song she performed.

  1. “Into You” – Ariana Grande

After listening to the whole album, this is still my favorite song from it, even though it is constantly on the radio. It is a great jam to blast in the car to sing along to.

  1. “Something in the Water” – Carrie Underwood

The lyrics are truly amazing and really speak to me. Whenever I am down or in need of some inspiration, this song is always there to cheer me up.

  1. “I See the Light” – Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi

I am obsessed with Disney. This is my favorite Disney song and honestly, one of my all time favorite songs. The scene in the movie [“Tangled”] when this song is played is perfection. This song contains that Disney magic that everyone just loves. Also, Rapunzel and Flynn are major couple goals.

  1. “All I Want for Christmas is You” – Mariah Carey

Since we are in the Christmas season, my friends and I have been playing this song quite often. It’s a great song to dance and sing your heart out to. Might I add, it’s also a great shower song.

  1. “The First Noel” – Josh Groban and Faith Hill

This may sound like a random Christmas song, but in my opinion, it is one of the best. Josh Groban and Faith Hill sing some of the best Christmas songs and their voices together are perfection. I usually sing this song way more than I should during the Christmas season and everyone should definitely go and listen to it.
