Okay, so it is not exactly Shakespeare, but they do make fun of the old Brit. At least that is how Reduced Shakespeare got their start back in 80's. The three man comedy troupe started by performing the "The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged)." And then they went on to parody everything from the Bible to the history of America.

Humanoids From the Deep, "Bloodsucking Freaks" and "Flesh Gordon." Sound familiar? For most of us in the MTV generation, titles like this and other exploitation films such as "Foxy Brown" are stored away in what we consider the land of cheesy, which also includes hit TV shows including "Soul Train" and "All in the Family.

In recognition of the potential for HPV cases amongst college-age women, we applaud the University for holding a free GARDASIL clinic, which offers the vaccination to a limited number of students on campus. GARDASIL ultimately strives to decrease the number of cervical cancer cases.

Everyone has heard the story of Cinderella a billion times before but very few have seen it in the form of a ballet. This Friday, Fairfield students and the local community will have the opportunity to see Moscow Festival Ballet's production of Sergei Prokofiev's classic ballet "Cinderella" at the Quick Center.

Virgin records is promoting Joss Stone's new album "Introducing Joss Stone" as "an electrifying mix of warm vintage soul, '70s-style R'B, Motown girl-group harmonies and hip-hop grooves." After listening to Stone's new album you have to wonder if Virgin actually listened to the record they are describing. "Introducing," demonstrates a departure from Stone's funk roots to a more modern hip-hop sound.

Snow on the ground and freezing temperatures can only mean one thing for the spring; Lacrosse season is upon us. However, despite the cold temperatures the Fairfield women's lacrosse team was unable to pull out wins in their opening weekend. "The turnovers and the attack transition was our biggest problem," said Head Coach Stacey McCue about the 8-7 loss to Villanova on Saturday and the 14-7 loss to Yale University on Monday night.

The neon lights that surround the Community Theater marquee on Post Road are beacons for downtown Fairfield that have been shining brightly for over 80 years. Now, thanks to the owner and creator of the Community Theater Foundation, Leo Redgate, the Community Theater is going to get a whole new look.

We have all heard the saying "If it ain't broke, then don't fix it." Whoever said this did not have have money in mind. "Reno 911!:Miami," the most recent television show to be adapted into a movie, forgets this saying. Based on the popular Comedy Central show, "Reno: 911," the movie adaptation follows the team of screw-up cops as they venture to Miami for the American Police convention.

Walking around campus you can't miss the posters, the ones with the group of college students deeply reflecting on life while hanging out. The posters are the first step in bringing, "The Aughts," a new comedy to air on Fairfield's HAM channel.
