Gym-goers of previous years will attest to the fact that it is nothing short of miraculous that I have not had to wait to get on the treadmill once this year at our delightful RecPlex, where five of the 11 treadmills are currently "out of order." Perhaps my intimidating athletic abilities make everyone else on the treadmills scatter as I walk in the door? Unlikely.

If you could change one thing about Fairfield, what would it be?

I feel it's my moral responsibility to begin this article with this disclaimer: I am, by no means, any kind of authority on hooking up. I'm actually quite awkward myself, so I encourage all of you to take my advice with a grain of salt. That said, every student at Fairfield U will have their share of awkward hookups in their four years.

CHEERS to the increased diversity on campus. Fairfield is certainly making more of an effort to diversify the student body. Programs such as the Student Diversity Grant and organizations such as AHANA are designed not to single out minority students, but as ways to promote awareness to different cultures and racial backgrounds.

A lot of people like to pretend that cliques end in high school. However, most students here would agree that cliques are alive and well at Fairfield U. Here's a break down so you can figure out where you fall.

I have always considered myself an exemplary young lady. A role model if you will. The kind of girl a young man brings home to mom and dad. That said, you could imagine my horror when readers of He Said/ She Said wrote into The Mirror calling our column "rude, vulgar, and just straight up trash.

The first week back at Fairfield U is always a magical one. The strain of moving in, the painful blow to the wallet from buying books and the awkward hellos from your spring hookups are not enough to keep you down.

Over the summer, there were many changes at Fairfield University: the relocation of several offices, the completion of the Bannow Science Center, the new smoking policy in the dorms- all of which the student body was made aware. However, after Fairfield University's unwavering support of Arthur Andersen throughout the scandals of last year, it may surprise students to see the once "Andersen Interactive Class room" has been renamed.

Imagine being inundated with harassing phone calls from finance agencies, ridiculous bills from credit card companies, and letters from your bank saying they're closing your account. Sounds like nothing that could happen to a college student, right? But these iron gates aren't protecting us.
