Fall is a beautiful season, especially in Fairfield! There are so many wonderful spots to enjoy the gorgeous weather and the colorful leaves. Whether you are studying, having a meal, spending time with friends or just looking for a place to see the fall foliage there are some great spots on campus.

Some of the pretty and popular places around campus to enjoy this time of year are the courtyard outside of Donnarumma Hall, the steps outside of the DiMenna-Nyselius Library and the Freshman Quad. Each of these locations offers a perfect backdrop for appreciating the stunning colors of autumn.

My personal favorite spot to enjoy the fall weather and the colorful leaves is the Donnarumma courtyard. Just up the steps next to Canisius Hall is a little area with benches and small, stone tables. Trees are scattered around to offer shade next to the seating areas. Directly in the middle of the courtyard is a sunken circle surrounded by stairs down to its center. This place on campus is perfect for getting some work done and enjoying the view on a nice day. The red, orange and yellow leaves cover all of the trees in this courtyard at this time of year. It truly is a special place that captures the beauty of the season.

Another perfect fall spot on campus is in front of the library. On a nice sunny afternoon, the steps outside of the library are a very comfortable place to settle in with friends or yourself and enjoy the beauty of fall. Grab an acai bowl or a drink from Peet’s and sit out in the autumn sun on the steps. The large trees that cover the library lawn have the most impressive colors adorning their leaves. Whether you’re enjoying the seasonal scenery or snacking on a treat from the library cafe, the steps outside provide the perfect place for soaking in fall on campus.

The quad is a very popular place to enjoy any gorgeous day. Right in the center of the freshmen dorms, the quad is the epitome of fall on a college campus. Something is always happening there, whether people are playing spike ball, listening to music or studying on a bench with friends. There are Adirondack chairs scattered throughout the quad for people to sit outside to enjoy the fall weather. The trees in the quad are always filled with stunning colors on the leaves. The vibes are perfect and the scenery is very fitting for the season. The quad truly captures the essence of college life, making it one of the best spots on campus in the fall.
