COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Fairfield University women’s basketball team is hours away from its eighth NCAA Tournament appearance, this time as the No. 11 seed against No. 6 Notre Dame.
Neither Catholic school has played against the other since December 1987, when the Fighting Irish took a 75-62 win over the Stags in the Wildcat Christmas Classic at Villanova.
This year, the Stags are looking to write a different story in Ohio.
