1. Did Midnight Madness pump you up for the basketball season?
Chris Simmons: Seeing Lyndon Johnson doing the Soulja Boy dance was the highlight of the night. Mary Therese Church: There is nothing “midnight” about it. It started at 10 p.m. Chris Tsombanos: I showed up at midnight … and it was over.
2. Robert Morris: Field hockey wins? Chris Simmons: Obviously we couldn’t think of a full five questions. But congrats to field hockey for winning. Mary Therese Church: I’ve never heard of either. Chris Tsombanos: Next question.
3. Better fighters: Hockey players or fans? Chris Simmons: I’m from Maryland. I don’t do hockey; we do crabs, football and Natty Boh. Mary Therese Church: After the hockey season opener, it’s pretty split. But I did enjoy watching Ben Welch beat the s**t out of someone. Chris Tsombanos: I’m gonna have to give it to the fans because, as we know kids, alcohol impairs both your balance and motor skills.
4. More exciting: MLB playoffs or NFL regular season? Chris Simmons: The O’s are haunted by Derek Jeter’s non-homerun in 1996 (Damn you, Jeffrey Maier) and how can you not like Ray Lewis? Football … until the O’s get good. Mary Therese Church: Well, since the Broncos are losing and the Rockies are winning, I will have to go with MLB. Chris Tsombanos: Patriots at Colts. Nov. 4, goodnight.
5. Who’s smarter: Business majors or English majors? Chris Simmons: Smart. Sexy. English majors. Mary Therese Church: English majors: we’re able to form complete sentences later in life. Chris Tsombanos: Well, some people are good at reading … and stuff and then some people are good at getting jobs. Bidness.
