On Oct. 26, the World Series Game 3 between the Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals was tied 4-4 going into the bottom of the ninth inning. Since the game was in St. Louis, the Cardinals had a chance to win the game as they were coming up to bat. With Brandon Workman on the mound for the Red Sox, Matt Adams stepped up to the plate with an immense amount of pressure.

​Last Saturday, the Stags women’s soccer team beat the Niagara Purple Eagles with a score of 4-0 on Senior Day. Ironically enough, all four of the goals were scored by freshmen. The four seniors, Sarah Frassetto, Jac Ley, Carly Beyar and Shannon Fay, and one graduate student, Nikki Stanton '13, played in their last ever home game at Lessing Field and helped their team clinch a winning season as well as an undefeated season at home. This is the first time such a feat has happened for the women’s soccer team.

A task force for adjunct professors at Fairfield was launched last year to examine the treatment of adjunct professors and other part-time faculty. This semester, it published results indicating that such faculty members have unstable employment and a lack of voice and respect due to their roles, compared to full-time faculty.

As most of you know, the Bingo Players will be playing at the FUSA Fall Concert this year with the Bassjackers opening for them. So, who exactly are each of these music groups?

Who else is tired of hearing “Blurred Lines” and “We Can’t Stop”? So many songs that are currently played on the radio receive criticism for being overplayed and seeming so different from the sounds of a previous generation known as the late 1990s and early 2000s. So, let’s start by looking at the two most iconic pop figures of each decade.

In the final match of the Reunion Weekend celebrating the 50th anniversary of Fairfield University Rugby this past Saturday, the ladies notched a significant win against the visiting Hofstra team. With a vast number of Fairfield alumni in attendance, this Fairfield team did not upset and gave pride to the longest lasting club in Fairfield history.

This Sunday, the field hockey team edged Columbia University 4-3 as they improved to a 4-0 home record at University Field. Seniors Nikki McLucas, Hillary Fitts, and Shealyn Testa scored along with Felicitas Heinen ‘15 to lead the Lady Stags to their fifth straight victory and an 8-2 overall record.

With the addition of four new international freshmen, the number of European players on the 2013-14 Fairfield Stags soccer roster is now up to nine. Each of them brings a unique skillset which will hopefully help the team find success in the upcoming seasons. So, let’s take a look at each of these players.
