To the Editor:

I would like to personally congratulate all those who were involved in the production of “Cabaret.”

Fairfield University should give the theater department more funding so that they can put on musicals annually. “Cabaret” was sold out all throughout the weekend, and it is apparent that the student body was very excited about this show.

Last Tuesday night, I attended the first performance with other members of the Ignatian Residential College. It was spectacular from beginning to end, and the cast truly captured the entertaining, whimsical and historical aspects of the musical.

The choreography and costumes were authentic; the singing brought the songs to life (special shout out to the Prep student who was featured! What a heavenly voice!)

Each performer did an excellent job; the acting was believable and enthusiastic.

Moreover, I would like to use this space to spotlight Jared Mezzocchi, ’07, who captured the role of Emcee perfectly. His energy and stage presence were phenomenal!

Jared certainly has a long career of performing ahead of him. Hopefully, we will see him as one of Fairfield’s finest onBroadway one day! Bravo!

Sincerely,

Lauren Marciano ’08
