A timeless masterpiece. An incredible musical. A milestone from our childhood. A stoner’s wet dream.
These are just a few things that describe the “Nightmare Before Christmas” 3D, a re-release of Tim Burton’s early 1990s box office hit.
Seen the original so many times that you can pretty much recite every line from memory? Don’t worry, there is still so much to experience with the re-release. With the 3D edition, there are more exciting details that make you feel as if you are walking the streets of Halloween town with the pumpkin king Jack Skellington.
Watching this movie again, I’m starting to wonder how seeing this as a child didn’t scare the living daylight out of me.
The story revolves around the pumpkin king of Halloween town, Jack, who is bored with the Halloween routine. After accidentally falling into the dimension of Christmas town, Jack becomes determined to hijack the holiday and bring it to Halloween town – with results of comical proportions.
Aside from the stunning three-dimensional effects, another key element of the film is the music. The musical score is catchy, especially the incredibly repetitive yet still memorable song, “What’s This?!”
If you are familiar with the original or have never seen it, the 3D remake is worth watching. Prepare for one hell of a Halloween experience.
