Basketball Jerseys in Bookstore to Boost Stag Spirit

The Stag-positive campaign has touched nearly every aspect of school spirit at Fairfield. Now, FUSA President Hutch Williams '08 has moved on to retail. Williams is planning to sell Fairfield varsity men's basketball jerseys at the bookstore as early as next fall.

Relay For a Cancer-Free Future

Cancer is considered a leading health concern worldwide, and Fairfield students have an opportunity to help bring about a cure for the disease. There are over 120 participants registered online and over 100 are expected to stop by throughout the 12-hour Relay For Life to be held this weekend to aid American Cancer Society initiatives.

Baseball Blasts Back Onto MAAC Scene

In late January, the MAAC Pre-Season Baseball Coaches Poll ranked Fairfield eighth out of 10 teams. Now, four weeks into conference play, the Stags are tied with Rider for fourth place. After taking away two wins from Iona this past weekend and improving to 6-5 in conference play, they're starting to turn heads.

Baseball Swept by St. Peter’s

Two weeks ago, the Fairfield baseball team was 3-0 in MAAC play. Now, after several offensive woes, the Stags are 4-5. Last weekend, Fairfield dropped its three-game conference series with St. Peter's, scoring only three runs.

Recycling Initiatives Decrease Trash Output

With threats of increased hurricanes, droughts and other natural disasters, people across the world are trying to slow the global warming process. Currently, Fairfield is doing its part by moving toward becoming a "trashless" campus. Since the addition of blue recycling bins in January, buildings across campus have seen the positive effects of increased paper recycling.

The Fairfield baseball team opened up MAAC play 2007 with a win, beating Niagara today 1-0 at Fordham's Houlihan Park. The game was a real pitchers' duel, as Fairfield junior right-hander Ryan Calabrese went toe-to-toe with Niagara righty Mike Wilson '08.

Seminar Prepares For On-Campus Art Museum

Last year, administrators in the College of Arts and Sciences and Campus Planning and Operations proposed plans for an on-campus art museum in the lower level of Bellarmine Hall. Now, a Museum Installation Seminar of eight students have joined in the efforts to make these plans a reality.
