For male nurses, it’s a matter of pride and prejudice

Bill Entwistle '06 walks into his classes every day like any other student. However, he encounters an interesting situation. Bill's classes are made up of nearly all women. Entwistle is one of Fairfield's few male nursing majors. "Every now and then I feel out of place, but for the most part I look at this as an opportunity to meet 62 potential girlfriends," Entwistle joked.

Ace of bass

Brian Torff lives a double life. During the week, he's a rather unassuming, mild mannered associate professor of music here at Fairfield, assigning homework, grading tests, and reading papers. On the weekend, it's a far different story: a jet-setting musician playing gigs in smoky jazz clubs and concert halls throughout Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, even Germany, sometimes making it back in town just in time for class on Monday morning.

Rec Plex regulars at Fairfield discover size matters

Women’s history month offers novel approach to lecture

Patricia Powell, author of The Pagoda, A Small Gathering of Bones, and Me Dying Trial, read from some of her works in the DiMenna-Nyselius Library last week, kicking off March's Women's History Month. Born in Spanish Town, Jamaica, Powell's novels combine her knowledge of Jamaican culture with issues of gender, race and sexuality.

The Grape has so many classic features in any given night. For example, there are the dollar house shots, something that everyone needs to take full advantage of, even if they look like the slime from Nickelodeon's "You Can't Do That On Television."
