To the Editor: I applaud the students at the beach who raised money for charity at parties they had this weekend. There was one on Friday for Breast Cancer Research and one on Saturday for the Mark Fisher Foundation. The residents asked for a small donation from students coming in their house to party, much like other schools do, but not for profit.

The traditional gauges, polls and the debates mean much less in this race than in the past. Politics has increasingly become part of our everyday lives.
