Good news for Fairfield seniors and beach residents. A successor to the 100 Nights senior party has been announced, and the beach tradition known as The Naut will soon be back. Seniors have a reputation to uphold when it comes to various traditions.

Fairfield communications professor Robbin Crabtree said the classroom has always been her home. But Crabtree, also director of the office of service learning, is onto bigger and better things. Crabtree will continue her distinguished career at Fairfield as the new dean of the College of Arts and Sciences after returning from a sabbatical.

A 21-year-old Gonzaga RA is being fired by Residence Life after admitting herself to the Health Center following a Saturday night of drinking in New Haven. Laura DeFrancesco '08, spent Friday night, Oct. 26 in the Health Center when she felt sick after drinking.

Deadly beach house fire in North Carolina kills seven students

A fire broke out early Sunday morning at a beach house on Ocean Isle Beach in southern North Carolina, killing six University of South Carolina students and one Clemson University student, while there were six survivors also from USC, authorities said. Perched on stilts, the home sits about two blocks from the beach on one of a series of peninsulas, each by canals.

Fairfield Fulbright program finishes at the top of its class

For the third time in four years, Fairfield University's Fulbright program has received top recognition due to the high number of students who were awarded the scholarship this past academic year. Fairfield placed first in the number of Fulbrights its students received among the 574 universities in the country that are ranked as master's degree institutions in the Carnegie classification, The Chronicle of Higher Education announced this week.
