The PBS favorite "Reading Rainbow," will be featured at Fairfield University's Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts Sunday, March 10 at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The Theatreworks/USA-staged show, appropriate for children in grades 2-7, will be repeated Monday, March 11 at 10 a.m. as part of the Quick Center's Arts Bound Schoolday Series.

Two Fairfield University professors, Dr. Katherine Kidd and Dr. Joy Gordon, and their student interns were recently honored by the United Way of Eastern Fairfield County with the United Way Community Builders awards. The awards were presented this year for the first time.

U.S poet laureate to speak at Fairfield U.

On Wednesday, Feb. 27, Pinsky, Poet Laureate of the United States from 1997 to 2000, will speak at Fairfield University's Open VISIONS Forum. "Keeping the Humanities Alive Via Poetry" is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts.

Fairfield University, by nature, is a place where students, faculty and school officials are not expected to stare straight into the eyes of one of the most absurd and terrifying situations possible. Who would have ever thought a hostage situation could happen here? Who would have ever been prepared for such an ordeal?

Stags’ Basketball looking for momentum

The men's and women's basketball teams will host Manhattan and Marist tonight in a double-header at the Arena at Harbor Yard. The men's team has won two-straight games and are now 8-15 overall and 6-8 in the MAAC, while the Lady Stags have lost two-straight and are 11-13 overall and 6-7 in the conference.

The Aftermath of a Hostage Crisis

The hostage-taker at Fairfield University who held up 22 students and one teacher for about six hours on Tuesday was identified as Patrick Arbelo, a 24-year-old resident of Bridgeport, by the Fairfield Police Department.
