Many of you by now have already found out about Day One through the interview I did with them for this week's issue. However, as interesting as an interview can be, the music is just as important as the people behind it. In this particular case, there's nothing to be worried about.

Chave Weissler, Ph.D., author, groudbreaking scholar, and professor of Jewish civilization at Lehigh University, will present two public lectures as part of her visit to Fairfield University as its 2002 Judaic Studies scholar-in-residence.

The social phenomenon that is AOL Instant Messenger is bizarre and unnerving. Never before has there been -- and there probably never will be again -- a software program that harnesses the oxymoronic convivial ennui of such a generation as ours. Utilized by so many, depended upon even, like some sort of sick narcotic, students every day wake up to get their fix of humorous away messages or overdone "SubProfiles."

Fairfield's baseball team has won six straight games behind its strong pitching staff, led by senior Dan Krines. The Stags are now 7-5 on the season and prepare to open their conference schedule this weekend against Marist.

The Stags won their first game of the season last Saturday with a 15-14 double-overtime victory over Villanova. Fairfield is now 1-2 and look ahead to Monday's game against Boston College.

Despite prior plans to place the new game room in the Oak Room, due to lack of space in the new Campus Center, game room fans have to settle for the "game area" outside of the Stag diner.

Fairfield University's world-wide, state-of-the-art radio station, WVOF, opened for business on Wednesday, March 20, at 1 p.m. in a brand new three-studio complex in the John A. Barone Campus Center.

The British are coming! The British are coming! The Fairfield University Glee Club, under the baton of Carole Ann Maxwell, presents "The British Explosion," its annual spring concert, Saturday, April 13 at 8 p.m. in the Quick Center.

Last Thursday was a day to relish. People were playing frisbee in the quad, sandals adorned most feet, it seemed like the perfect ending to a not so perfect week. Having finished classes for the day, I walked back to my humble Campion abode. As I thought to myself what a magnificent day it had been, I looked ahead to see a grouping of five oafs outside the Campion entrance.

'Unless you have something good to say, say nothing at all.' That has been the moto of Fairfield's athletic department concerning controversial issues throughout the course of this year.
