To the President, the Board of Trustees and the Academic Council: Last August, the Mentor course management system was abruptly shut down by Chief Information Officer Paige Francis, creating enormous disruption for some 500 courses, as well as assessment and accreditation processes in multiple schools and departments. The Academic Council asked the Educational Technology Committee to investigate “what led to the decision, how the decision was made and the appropriateness of the decision.”

To the Editor; We the Food Service workers at Fairfield University wish to speak to the Fairfield Community. We take pride in the work that we do and service that we provide to the students, faculty, administrative staff and support services. We have spent careers serving this community and consider ourselves valuable members.

This letter is in response to the article, "Freshmen Strive to Bring Greek Life to FU,” the front-page article for the week of November 20, 2013. In the article, Robert Joyce stated that FU students Ferry and Peacock "have gained support from FUSA and COSO." This is an inaccurate statement for several reasons.

The idea of Greek life at Fairfield is extremely disconcerting to me. However, a group of students have recently pushed for fraternities and sororities to be included and recognized on campus. As far as I’m concerned, introducing this lifestyle to the Fairfield community is an unnecessary move that would negatively impact our community.

Doug Perlitz has been sentenced for his inhumane crime. To attempt to hold Fairfield University responsible for the amount of hundreds of millions of dollars seems to be a misplaced attempt for lawyers to capitalize on the situation.

I would like to set the record straight about my involvement in last weekend's Dolan Hall brawl. First, I was actually not present during the event that was mentioned by the press. The incident I did witness was a previous confrontation; while leaving my room I witnessed a fight between my roommate, his brother and a few other students from down the hall. I did what I believe to have been right, which was to try to protect everyone and help break up the fight.
