Zach Gross, Head of the Student Environmental Association, believes you don’t have to be an “environmentalist” to have a positive impact on the environment. Every little action contributes to reducing our impact on the environment. For example:

  • If you recycle, and lead by example, you could lead a friend to a change of heart.
  • If you call out (gently) a friend who doesn’t recycle, your words may have a real effect.

We don’t have to wait for the big companies to change. When we change our mindset, we can influence big companies to change:

  • Farmers say, “We’ll grow whatever the American people want.”
  • When Americans stop buying high fructose corn syrup, farmers won’t grow subsidized corn with terrible additives.  It’s that simple.

Grassroots come from the bottom and move up.
