After a thrilling victory over St. Francis, 68-64, at Alumni Hall over the weekend, the Stags fell to Providence College 67-50 Monday night.

The rookie Stags stepped up for the match as Anthony Johnson ’10 led the Stags with 10 points, and Greg Nero ’10 and Rich Flemming ’10, each with nine.

Despite playing well defensively, the Stags lacked offense overall shooting only 39 percent from the floor and 18 percent from three point range.

Senior Michael Van Schaik cooled from his hot streak, going 0-for-5 from three point range and only 2-for-8 from the floor.

Dwain Williams led Providence with 19 points and went 5-for-6 from three point range.

The Stags take on Head Coach Ed Cooley’s former team Boston College on Wednesday in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
