Cheers and boos: Students weigh in on Ludacris as FUSA concert performer

Ridiculous. Nuts. Crazy. Awesome. These are some of the words students voiced after hearing that Ludacris will perform for FUSA's annual spring concert, which was announced at a press conference Monday night. According to Cristina Pires '08, FUSA executive of programming, the successful bid to have Ludacris come to Fairfield was $85,000.

A 21-year-old Gonzaga RA is being fired by Residence Life after admitting herself to the Health Center following a Saturday night of drinking in New Haven. Laura DeFrancesco '08, spent Friday night, Oct. 26 in the Health Center when she felt sick after drinking.

Just like last year, Black Violin enticed a packed crowd of about 300 students at the BCC to get on their feet and raise their hands to the beat of the group's new and unique sound. Black Violin got the crowd moving to their favorite Gnarls Barkley, Nelly Furtado and Fugees tunes.

Writers strike, viewers suffer

The Writers Guild of America announced last week that its members were striking, claiming that profits made from subsequent airings or purchases of a television program is a necessary part of a writer's income. Maybe these writers have a point in saying they deserve profit from programs being streamed on the Internet, but that's not the point.

An MTV channel devoted solely to the college audience, mtvU hosted its fourth annual "mtvU Woodie Awards" last Thursday at Roseland Ballroom in New York City, allowing college students from across the country to voice their opinions on this year's best music.

Inti-Illimani goes out with a bang

The audience was chanting "Toca," meaning 'play' in Spanish, over and over as Chilean flags were raised throughout the audience. This was the scene as Inti-Illimani came out for its third standing ovation at the Quick Center this past Friday night. The Chilean music group finished its 40th Anniversary Tour to a not-so-packed but very passionate crowd, comprised of Spanish majors required to attend, Fairfield locals and a few faithful fans. 503 Service Unavailable
