In the depths of the bottom floor of the library exists a secret treasure of Fairfield University history. Boxes upon boxes of memorabilia, books, article clippings and pictures from the start of the University in the 1940s to now are stored and reveal the school's past.

Story of the Year strikes success

As the "emo" era fades, bands once known for sorrowful lyrics and high-pitched chorus like Taking Back Sunday are maturing. Known for its "screamo" 2003 hit "Until the Day I Die," rock band Story of the Year has followed a similar path. "The Black Swan," the band's third album, will be released on April 22.

All aboard for Relay for Life!

Fairfield University's Colleges Against Cancer (CAC) is hosting its second annual Relay for Life on Friday, April 25th to Saturday, April 26th. With an original fund-raising goal of $15,000 doubling last year, Fairfield's CAC hopes to raise $50,000 in 2008.

Halfway through the opening credits of MTV's "The Paper," one of its virtues is already apparent: I'm not watching "Laguna Beach." Don't get me wrong; Lauren and the gang are entertaining. But if I wanted to watch a show that never lets me forget there's a script behind it, I'd tune in to daytime television.

Sarah Marshall: One film that will be hard to ‘forget’

Comedic mastermind Judd Apatow has been on a roll these past few years, spitting out gems like "Superbad," "Knocked Up" and "The 40 Year Old Virgin." Apatow strikes gold once again with the romantic comedy, "Forgetting Sarah Marshall." The film tells the story of Peter Bretter, a television composer who was just dumped by Sarah Marshall (played by Kristen Bell), Hollywood sensation and girlfriend of five years.

Redemption

After Saturday night's ugly loss to Manhattan, Fairfield was looking to bounce back with a win against Canisius, before heading into a 17 game winter break. They were playing as terrible, if not worse than they had against Manhattan. However, the Stags were able to clinch the victory 75-64 at the Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport in front of a small crowd.

Something to cheer for

The Fairfield men's basketball team entered Alumni Hall on Saturday night knowing that they needed to win the game. They were facing a 0-7 St. Francis (NY) Terriers team and were about to face two major conference teams, Providence and Boston College. Without a win, the Stags were looking at the possibility of entering the MAAC season with a 1-10 record.
