Sunny Daes is reminiscent of a “mom and pop” ice cream shop, and although there are two in the Fairfield area (one on Post Road, one on Black Rock Turnpike), Sunny Daes does not have the same manufactured, chain restaurant feel of Carvel’s or even Cold Stone. The flavors are all homemade and delicious (pumpkin in the fall is to die for), and there are a wide variety of toppings and sundaes available. Sunny Daes also has sorbet for the more health-minded. The prices are far more affordable than Cold Stone, and since it is on the way home from La Salsa (and Joe’s and Dunkin Donuts and China Star), it’s hard not to have an excuse to stop off and brighten your day with Sunny Daes.
