The first Nor'easter of the winter season has come and gone, bringing joy and wet shoes to the student body. I am not a huge fan of the cold, but can still appreciate the alabaster aesthetic snow brings. Unfortunately, our winter wonderland was short-lived, and we must now suffer through endless piles of brown and black slush as a result of the university's complete incompetence in snow removal techniques.

20 gifts to make my Christmas bright

Dear Santa, I've been a very good little college student this semester. I've gone to all my classes, I've done all my assignments on time (at least that's I wrote on those yellow evaluation slips) and you know when I've been sleeping (not at all). Dance team revs up with new coach

Fairfield's dance team has a new coach, new moves, new determination and renewed dedication. Dana McEvoy is the team's new coach and behind a new regiment of exercise. She graduated last year from Fairfield and was hired three weeks after auditions. The dance team is also receiving more recognition and support from school officials to help fuel their renaissance.

Fairfield's chronic parking problems have finally caught the attention of university officials, but the "build nothing near my house" trend from local residents has hurt the university's efforts to increase on-campus parking, according to officials who say they cannot expand adult education programs without more parking.

Faculty trained in academic advising

With registration for the spring semester next week, Fairfield students are required to meet with their faculty advisor to discuss what classes they will take. How do students know that they are receiving correct and qualified information at these meetings? To help ensure accurate and thorough information is being provided to the students, the College of Arts and Sciences has offered faculty advising training sessions.
