He Said: The Best and Worst that could’ve been…
Some of the best and worst things about Fairfield that didn't quite make the list.
Student Report Assaults at Popular Off-Campus Bars
The Department of Public Safety announced in two campus e-mails this month that two students reported being assaulted in off-campus bars in Bridgeport. Director of Public Safety Todd Pelazza said he was not authorized to reveal the names of the alleged victims, who reported the incidents to un-named University staff members.
Basements Are School’s Latest Casualty
They're getting rid of townhouse basements?! That very question is bursting forth from many outraged students across campus. And while it is usually an immediate and mostly uninformed reaction, even after closer review it could be completely on target. The drama is caused by the newly proposed housing renovations that will convert the townhouse basements into garden apartments completely independent of the upstairs townhouses.

Getting off higher ed’s naughty lists
Ron Burgundy was wrong. Diversity is not an old, old wooden ship that was used during the Civil War era; it's actually an issue plaguing Catholic colleges and universities across the nation, including Fairfield. As The Mirror reports in this issue, this year's freshman class represents some of the highest percentages of minority students admitted into Fairfield in recent memory.
The Ak Atack: Testing the limits of your education
The SAT. The SAT II. The ACT. The LSAT. The GRE. The MCAT. Sound familiar? As I prepare to take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) this Saturday, I can't help but feel a déjà vu from my junior and senior years of high school. The same nerves, questions, concerns and overall mess that was my life prior to the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), I once again feel for the LSAT.
Successful club sports making their mark on Fairfield athletics

Fairfield's men's club volleyball team is ranked 18th in the nation for Division II club teams and is looking to place in the top ten at the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association Collegiate Volleyball Sport Club Championships in Salt Lake City that is scheduled to take place from April 13 to the 15.
Move over Dianne Nolan; Fairfield has a new member of the 500-win club
Four sheets of paper are proudly taped on the door of Julie Brzezinski's office exclaiming her newest achievement, with a character on each sheet: 5-0-0-! On March 27 the head coach of Fairfield's softball team earned her 500th career win when the Stags defeated Long Island University 7-5 in the second game of a double-header played in Stony Brook, N.
The BEST TEAM you don’t know
They don't get all the headlines or play in front of sell-out crowds. Their names are not the most well known on campus, nor is the sport they play. But the Fairfield softball team, ranked first in the pre-season MAAC coaches' poll, may be the best and humblest varsity team to play for Fairfield this spring.
