Best? The Seagrape: 1144 Reef Road, Fairfield • 254-2669

The Seagrape’s convenient location and great prices have made it the go-to standard for all students living at the beach. In fact, the only complaint ever heard about this bar is that students go too often. With dollar house shots, great weekday drink specials, attentive bartenders, photo-hunt and, of course, good music, The Grape is a dream of a college bar. Not only does everybody know your name, they know your drink of choice, high score on Silver Strike Bowling and can vividly reenact for you the time you face-planted off the curb in front of the bar. The Grape is a senior tradition that has become all the more special as students salvage the last few class bonding opportunities left after other tradiations have been destroyed. And as for the ever-present rumors that The Grape is being bought out and closed down, they’re just rumors; The Grape is here to stay! So, everybody shout a little bit louder now.

Worst? The Blue: 3488 Fairfield Ave., Bridgeport • 336-4000

If headache-inducing loud music, the possibility of jail time, and overpriced drinks are your scene then The Blue is the bar for you. For the rest of us though, The Blue, formally The Black Rock And Blue, is the worst of the worst. Their new policy of 18 to party, 21 to drink is about as effective in keeping younger bar goers from drinking as FUSA events keep students on campus on the weekends.

Staff Pick: Bravo: 1418 Post Road, Fairfield • 254-1478

If you’re too old for the younger crowd at The Blue, yet still too young to join the seniors at The Grape, Bravo is most likely your Thursday destination. Although many accuse Bravo of outlandish drink prices and an underage crowd, The Mirror staff would beg to differ. The atmosphere is always inviting and the bartenders are fair. Its central location is ideal for all Fairfield students living both on-campus and off. Bravo is a happy medium between a senior tradition and a freshmen right of passage.
