For several weeks, the sign reading “closed for renovations” that hung outside the Seagrape, spelled bitter disappointment and some confusion for many members of the senior class. Over the year, this popular bar has become the standard party-spot for beach-dwelling seniors, whether for the purpose of drinking another night away or to finding out where the late-night party would be held afterward.

Initially, rumors circulated that the Seagrape had been shut-down because of health-violations, however even after this explanation was dispelled as a rumor, seniors were left to wonder if their ‘Grape’ would be reopened before graduation.

In the meantime, many seniors ventured out to bars such as Bravo and the Skybox or decided to stick to partying at their houses. This was considered a nice change by many for awhile, however the re-opening of the Seagrape was still met with much happiness as booze-hungry seniors raised their glasses in cheers to having their beloved bar back in business. Thus, seniors returned to their drinking routine at the Grape, making the most of their last year at college. After all, doesn’t the saying go ‘enjoy it now, because after college its called alcoholism.’
