To the Editor:

I’m continually amazed with the sense of entitlement some young people have. Not only do some, and it is some; not all, want to have premarital sex on a Catholic campus whenever and with whomever they want, they expect the university to support it by offering them condoms. “One would think that the church would choose to support the use of contraception, rather than face the issues of unwanted pregnancies and even, in some cases, abortion.”

Let me tell you what one should think. If and when you choose to do something that will not only risk your physical health, but is not inline with common sense and the values you’re parents have worked hard to instill in you, take responsibility for it. It’s not anyone’s job to provide individuals with tools which give them permission to do something which will confuse you, is against the teachings of the Catholic Church and will risk your health. If you choose to have sex, take responsibility for it. If you don’t like the values of a Catholic University, transfer.
