An Open Letter to the Constituents of Fairfield University,

From two great years in Claver to living off-campus, my time at Fairfield U. has been great. As your president, I hope to make sure that all students have the same positive experience that I was fortunate enough to have. After being abroad for a semester in Florence, I am now serving as class president for the second year in a row as well as competing on the F.U. Ski Team.

I want to continue working for the students next year as Student Body President because I plan to have a great senior year and improve campus, academic and social life in every way possible. In the past two years I have listened to my classmates and helped organize events such as sporting events, dinners, Data Match and paintball.

Although I am now a junior, I remember vividly the ups and downs of my freshman and sophomore years. With the lack of available parking and rules prohibiting freshmen from having cars, instituting an off-campus shuttle system for trips to the mall, grocery store and other surrounding areas is a major priority. I haven’t forgotten the limitations of dorm life, and plan to organize fun activities such as Quad Wars and a battle of the bands to make on-campus life more exciting. Overall student satisfaction is my main goal, and I encourage all input from underclassmen.

As a junior living off-campus I hope to mend relations between beach students and town residents by working with the S.B.R.A. to open lines of communication, as well as organize more events at the townhouses to bring all students together on campus. Improving the overall popularity of the newly renovated Levee is another major goal. Again, I know that this is only possible by listening to what the students want.

I hope to have your vote on Tuesday and am looking forward to hearing your suggestions to make our four short years at Fairfield the best they can be.

Sincerely,

Marissa Lanteri
