With the students back on campus, that only means one thing for the Leslie C. Quick Recreational complex:’ intramurals are in full swing.

The early fall intramural season features flag football, volleyball, soccer and field hockey.’

Flag football has started off with a bang. ‘A’ league games’ are played Sundays and Wednesdays at Alumni Field. ‘B’ league games are held on Sundays and Mondays.

This year’s ‘A’ league is full of very promising underclassmen. Still, several veteran squads have eyes on those illustrious championship T-shirts remain.’

As for flag football’s ‘B’ league, there were several nail-biters in which the outcome was determined in the game’s final minutes.’

Soccer season has opened up with some competitive play in both the men’s and co-ed divisions.’

The men’s division has had fast-paced, evenly matched games go’ up and down the field.

The intramural’s pitch has seen some great action early on.’

In the co-ed division we have seen some great finishes with last minute goals and even one regulation tie that led to penalty kicks.’

Volleyball draws enormous excitement year in and year out; the fun-loving volleyball environment draws a large crowd that brings a competitive nature to the court.’

Even field hockey has received an increase in participation. The ladies play an up-tempo 7×7 game on Sunday afternoons.’

Upcoming sports include men’s and co-ed 3×3 basketball ‘amp; indoor women’s lacrosse.’ Late fall intramurals that carry into the spring semester will feature 5×5 men’s ‘amp; co-ed basketball ‘amp; floor hockey.’ Registration for 3×3 basketball ‘amp; indoor women’s lacrosse ends on Oct. 6.’
