Students of the class of 2009 are saying that it is pretty clear that Fairfield administrators were not ready for the approximately 90 extra freshmen admitted this year. "The challenges I've faced, with having a large class, are dealing with administration and staff who weren't prepared for a class of this size," said Sarah McQueen '09.

Everyone's heard it: "I wanted to go to Boston College but I got rejected. Fairfield was my second choice." But Fairfield should not be anyone's second choice anymore. The Princeton Review ranks Fairfield University among the best 237 business schools for 2006.

Fairfield students have only three days remaining to contribute to a document that will determine the philosophical and administrative direction of the University in years to come. The official community review period for Fairfield's strategic plan comes to an end this Sunday.

Alison Sikora '06 is currently suffering through studying for her Graduate Record Examination (GRE), but she says she feels lucky. Despite what Sikora calls "two and a half hours of debilitating misery," she will not have to suffer through next year's GRE, which will be revamped and extended to four hours, according to David Payne, executive director of the GRE program for the Educational Testing Service (ETS).

What would you do with a million dollars? For the students of the Ignation Residential College (IRC), this is not a dream. It is a reality. The IRC has been awarded a $500,000 grant from the Lily Endowment, an offshoot of the pharmaceutical company, the Lily Foundation, and an additional $500,000 from Fairfield University.

Regis. Gonzoga. Jogues. Campion. Loyola. Fairfield students are familiar with the buildings that have long graced the quad. But soon, there may be another dormatory to add to that list. A plan for a new residence hall is in progress. All locations on campus are being considered, but the most talked about location is between Campion and Jogues Hall, where the residence life trailer is currently located, according to Gary Stephenson, director of Housing Operations.
