Students Gear Up to Cleanup

Students at Fairfield University are gearing up for the 19th Annual Hunger Cleanup, where they give back to the community and help the less fortunate. The event combines soliciting cash donations and donating volunteer hours to non-profit agencies. The event, put together by a group of about 30 students on the Hunger Cleanup Committee, gives half the money raised to local educational programs such as halfway houses and community centers.

Study Examines Health Benefits of Green Tea Extracts

An assistant professor at Oklahoma State University is conducting a study to determine whether green tea beverages or supplements can reduce body fat and prevent health problems. Arpita Basu said foods that are high in antioxidants, such as green tea, may prevent or delay the development of diabetes, cancer and other health problems.

Theater Fairfield Improv, Bitches

There are only about five places where you can hear a daughter scream, "Why are you guys so traditional!?" to her lesbian parents, and apparently a Theatre Fairfield Improv show is one of them. Yes, comic gems such as those were present last weekend as Theatre Fairfield's two improvisation ensembles, Baker's Dozen and On the Spot, put on a series of performances at the PepsiCo Theatre.
